About

Company history

In 1997, two of Turkey's leading shipbuilders Proteksan Yachts Incorporated and Turquoise Yacht Construction decided to join forces and founded Proteksan Turquoise Yachts. They made their debut a little earlier, in 1994, when they were working on the 50 metre mega yacht Turquoise (now Double Trouble).

In the mid-2000's the company opened another Celik Yat facility in Kojaeli, which builds hulls and deck structures for the yard's boats. In 2009 it received the ISO 9001:2000 certificate.

The shipyard is now controlled by Ottoman billionaire Mohammed Al Barwani, who also owns the Dutch Oceanco. After purchasing Proteksan Turquoise, Turquoise Yachts got a new name.

In two decades, the company has been able to gain the trust of customers around the world. The boats are particularly popular with customers in the USA, UK, Europe and Asia.

Production .

The shipyard's production facilities are located in Pendik (Istanbul Province) and Kocaeli. The total area of the halls is 75,000 sq.m., where about four mega-yachts are assembled per year. The factory in Pendik is capable of accommodating up to eight boats at a time and is designed for decoration and interior work. At the facility in Kocaeli, hulls and superstructures are being modified, machinery and hydraulic systems are being installed.

World famous studios such as H2 Yacht Design, Nuvolari Lenard and Philippe Briand/Vitruvius Yachts are working on the yachts. The shipyard has its own project office and design department.

Fleet

The fleet of Turquoise Yachts has more than 20 models ranging in length from 40 to 77 meters, designed for transatlantic travel. Traditionally, the motorboat hull is made of steel and superstructures are made of aluminum, but the company is not limited to the use of metals. For sailing yachts, for example, wood is used.

The 77-meter Go is still considered the largest yacht in the fleet. The boat was presented at the Monaco Yacht Show in 2018.

Features .

To move the boats between the shipyards from Kocaeli to Pendik (and/or back), the company has specifically built a floating dock. It is 66 meters long and 27 meters wide. It is capable of accommodating yachts weighing up to 2500 tons.
