Vitters Shipyard AQuiJo Overview
AQuiJo is a project of two renowned Dutch shipyards. In addition to Vitters Shipyard itself, Oceanco also had a hand in it. Oceanco's impressive experience in building really big boats came in handy as Aquijo, equipped with two masts of 90m each, is the largest ketch in the world.
Exterior and Interior Design
The AQuiJo's appearance is exquisitely clean with underwater anchorages, and it's no wonder the boat has an aerodynamic and therefore dramatic looking superstructure.
The interiors, designed by Dölker + Voges, have a summery look thanks to the dominance of white and turquoise.
Onboard amenities
As a megayacht, the AQuiJo offers the same space and comfort as a large motor yacht, but the focus in organizing the layout was to blur the lines between inside and outside as much as possible.Another design feature that AQuiJo borrowed from motoryachts is the flybridge. It houses the sunbathing area and the wheelhouse.
The 270-degree panoramic views from the aft upper deck master suite and a large sliding door lead to a private terrace with bar.
All guests cabins, on the lower deck, have their own bathroom. Two of them can be joined at will to create one large suite. On the same level there is a beach club with Jacuzzi, steam room, sauna and direct access to the swim platform.
Features
This is a very large boat, but in its behavior on the water it looks like a shell - so light and maneuverable. Engineers have designed the steering system so that there's not a hint of «smudge» reactions.
