Whirlwind XII was commissioned by Noel Lister, one of Britain's richest men, owner of the country's largest retail chain, MFI, and co-founder of the Cowes-based UK Sailing Academy. She was the first yacht over 100 feet designed by Ron Holland. Noel Lister has used the boat "to the fullest," sailing over 100,000 miles and visiting virtually every harbor from Newport to Sydney. The boat is hardly ever chartered, so little is known about her details and interior.
