Burrasca is the first in a series of 56-meter Perini Navi superyachts that has grown to include a dozen pennants. According to some reports (unconfirmed officially) the client was a well-to-do fellow countryman who decided to outshine them all by ordering a new boat from Perini - unprecedented at that time. The Perini architects were very attentive and the models were tested both in the pool and in the wind tunnel. The hull was built completely in aluminum which was a rarity 10 years ago for Perini, who preferred to build "timeless" (but heavy!) boats in steel. Her telescopic keel can be lowered on sharp courses, increasing her draft to over 9 meters and giving her excellent lateral resistance on sharp courses. Already her first sea voyage showed the validity of her design calculations - the boat easily reached a speed of 17 knots. Soon after her launch, she was cruising around the world, and now she is for sale at the modest price of €22.5 million.
